I have always been fascinated by great images and wondered what it takes to capture them myself. Today, I’m starting that journey of learning, and I’d like to share it with anyone who’s interested in following along.

Photography can seem intimidating at first — choosing a camera, understanding settings like aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, and learning the basics of composition, lighting, and editing. I don’t claim to have all the answers yet, but this site is where I document what I learn, the challenges I face, and the small victories along the way.

What You’ll Find Here

  • My Learning Journey – I’ll share my experiments, mistakes, and discoveries as I learn digital photography step by step. You can follow along and see what works (and what doesn’t) as I figure it out myself.
  • Beginner-Friendly Guides – As I learn about cameras, lenses, and other essential equipment, I’ll explain what I discover in simple, practical terms for anyone starting out.
  • Photography Fundamentals – I’ll tackle concepts like lighting, composition, and post-processing as I go, sharing my experiences and what I’m learning along the way.

My Camera

I will be using my Canon EOS 450D, which I bought brand new in the 2000s with the intention of pursuing photography back then. However, life’s inevitable distractions and emergencies meant I only had time to dabble, mainly using the camera’s auto settings.

This site isn’t really about the camera — it’s about exploring and learning the craft together. At this stage, there’s no need for expensive gear or “bells and whistles” you won’t use. The focus is on trying things out, understanding the basics, and building confidence so you can start taking photos you’re proud of — just like me.

Join the Journey

If you’re curious about photography or just starting out yourself, follow along as I explore, experiment, and learn. My hope is that some of what I discover will be useful to you too. Together, we’ll learn how to turn ideas into images and enjoy the process along the way.

Let’s start this photography journey today.
